Attention: Hungry College Students…

In Finance 101, the first day you learn that the two basics of increasing your net worth are: (drum roll please…):

  • Make more money
  • Spend less money

While clearly this is not rocket science, most students struggle to make progress in one and/or both of these areas while pursuing their degrees for 4, 5, 6 … (okay, it’s time to get a job) … 7, 8 years. With longer college years, mounting tuition costs, and student loan interest accruing, our college pals need all the help they can get to keep the expense side of their monthly budgets in check.

To help on that front, Consumer Reports put together a handy list of businesses that cut students a break and offer student discounts on their products and services. So take a moment to forward this on to the college student(s) in your life, maybe they will treat you to lunch to say thank you. Actually, don’t hold your breath for that, they’ll need to make some progress on #1 before that happens…
